Pense num painel dividido em compartimentos, semelhante a uma colmeia de abelhas. Uma geocélula (ou geocell) é mais ou menos isso. Em outras palavras, é um painel tridimensional feito geralmente com tiras de polímeros (PEAD ou polipropileno) contendo um conjunto de compartimentos (células) onde se deposita material agregado, o qual pode ser brita, areia, solo vegetal, RCD’s (Resíduos de Construção e Demolição), dentre outros.
As tiras da geocélula, ao se expandirem, funcionam como um colchão tridimensional e o sistema de confinamento celular absorve parcela dos esforços aplicados ao geossintético. As tensões verticais aplicadas passam a se distribuir horizontalmente, de modo que a infraestrutura pode resistir a esforços maiores.

Essa maior capacidade de carga da geocélula faz dela o produto ideal para reforço de pavimentos e áreas de estacionamento, melhora da capacidade de solos moles, reforço de fundações, proteção de taludes ou canais contra erosão, dentre muitas outras aplicações.

When it comes to strong and durable plastic, HDPE sheets plastic are my go-to. They’ve been incredibly helpful in both residential and industrial projects.
